Arrangement for checking and/or measuring quantities, including direction

The present invention relates to the field of measurement and/or checking of quantities. By quantity is meant, for example, force, weight, shape, etc. The invention can be characterised as a multidimensional pick-up, which can be used directly or indirectly for/during e.g. weighing, controlling, position indication, etc. Related inventions are the differential transformer and magneto-elastic pick-up, although they are of the unidimensional type. By measuring/detecting, at at least one point in space, the flow change produced directly or indirectly by the quantity in at least two partial flows, with different characteristics and with different extent in space, one can check and/or measure the quantity in terms of magnitude and direction, as a function of the flow change. The flow can consist of magnetic flux, light flux, etc. Characteristics which distinguish the partial flows can be phase, frequency, etc.
