Zusammenfassung:	The mechanism is particularly for handling blocks in quarries, having two levers (2, 3) pivoting together, and a cross-member with a lifting eyelet (5) for attachment to the crane hook (6). The levers so pivot together at one end that, on engagement of the load, one (2) assumes a horizontal position and the other one (3) a vertical one, and each has a shoulder (8) at the end to support the load. The cross member is in the form of a bell-crank lever (4) above the first lever (2) and rotating in the same plane. Its apex pivots on the first lever, and one of its arms is attached to the second one by a linkage (12, 13). There is an eyelet on this arm (15), above the centre of gravity of the mechanism when loaded, by which the latter is suspended from the crane hook during engagement with and hoisting of the load.
