Zusammenfassung:	In order to minimise the image defects without adversely affecting the print run performance of the flat-bed printing forme, the surface of the plate after developing, but prior to heating, is treated with an aqueous solution of a water-soluble organic substance and/or a water-soluble inorganic salt. Afterwards, any contamination precipitated on the background areas during baking can easily be removed by washing with water or aqueous solutions.
