Zusammenfassung:	A method of joining two bodies is disclosed. The method comprises treating a contacting region of a surface of at least one of the bodies with a stable aqueous colloidal solution comprising insoluble hydrous oxide particles of a selected element. Subsequent to the colloidal solution treating step or prior thereto, an adhesive is applied to a contacting region of a surface of at least one of the bodies. The thus adhesive and colloidal solution-treated contacting surfaces are mated or contacted together to obtain a joining thereof. The joined surfaces may then be further treated, if necessary, to obtain a relatively permanent joint or joining thereof.
