1340446 Sewing fastener tapes WILLIAM PRYM-WERKE KG 20 March 1972 [26 March 1971] 12833/72 Heading D1G [Also in Divisions A3 and E2] In a method of simultaneously connecting the two complementary halves 1 and 2 of a sliding clasp fastener to fly strips 4 and 5, the fastener halves are laid on their respective fly strips with one fastener half inverted relative to the other as shown in Fig. 4 and the fly strips are fed in mirror image fashion into two spaced apart and synchronously - driven sewing machines for the forming of connecting seams 8 and 9, the strip 5 being subsequently turned over into the position shown in Fig. 2 wherein the strip 5 constitutes the outer or left-hand fly strip on a pair of trousers and the strip 4 constitutes the inner fly strip. Each fly strip has a straight longitudinal edge adjacent which the seam 8, 9 is formed for the connection of the fastener half and a longitudinal edge curved at its lower end. The strip 5 is sewn to the trousers along its curved edge and the strip 4 is attached to the trousers in the region of the seam 9.
