1451148 Feeding hoppers ALFA LAVAL AB 4 March 1974 [7 March 1973] 9705/74 Heading B8S Material in granular or powder form is distributed uniformly in a silo 1 by means of a feed distributor 3 consisting of a housing 5 into which the material is blown via a pipeline 4, a deflector 6 which is pivotable about a horizontal axis being provided in the housing 5 for deflecting the material to four distribution boxes 7 (only two shown) each box having an outlet 8 through which material passes into the silo 1, a deflector (9) in the form of an inverted V being provided in each outlet 8, Fig. 3 (not shown). The deflector 6, is adjusted, in use of the distributor 3, to divide material equally between the chambers A, B on each side thereof, the nature of the material and the required deflection of the flow direction of the conveying air from the pipeline 4 determining the position of the deflector 6.
