Zusammenfassung:1291697 Coatings for adsorbing radioactive iodine and methyl iodide UNITED STATES ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION 19 Jan 1970 [28 Feb 1969] 2488/70 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions C3 and G6] A method of preventing the escape of radioactive iodine and methyl iodide from a nuclear containment vessel from any subsequent loss of coolant accident comprises painting the interior of the vessel with a coating containing a pigment, at least 10% wt. of a cross-linking material and a polyalkylamino-methacrylate or a polyalkylaminomethacrylate plus an amine terminated polyamide of formula:- wherein R and R1 are aliphatic groups and n>0. A preferred composition comprises 40% wt. of a mixture of poly(t-butylaminoethylmethacrylate) and poly(dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate), 10% wt. epoxy resin and 50% wt. of TiO 2 .
