The gun may be operated by trigger 3 acting on ball 7 housed in plate 14 by which the flexible portion 8 is secured in the body wall, and by crank 4 and push rod 5 to unseat ball 10 against the pressure of spring 11. The push rod may have a T-passage with opening 16 and 17, and may move in sealing plug 6 which provides the valve seat. The flexible portion may be of nylon, the body of aluminium, the plate of mild steel and the plug of polytetrafluoroethylene.
