These compounds may be prepared by reacting a 5-amino- 1,3,4-thiadiazole of formula with (a) R111-N = C = O or (b) Hal-OCNR11R111; or by reacting a urethane of formula with an amine of formula HNR11R111. Many compounds are listed in Example I. The invention also comprises a herbicidal composition containing as an active ingredient a compound of Formula I in admixture with a solid or liquid diluent or carrier.
