As shown, in which longitudinally folded plastics material is fed from a reel 5 over rollers 5, 6 to a filling and shaping mandrel 8 and then through sealing rollers 9 and crosssealing tools 11 carried by chains 12, three cross-sealing tools are carried by a common rotatable head 18 to permit production of one of three shapes of package, each corresponding to the spacing and shape of the respective sealing tool.
