Zusammenfassung:	An acrylic fiber with a triangular cross-section wherein the curved peripheral edge thereof is defined in accordance with formulas discussed herein. Also provided is a process for preparing these fibers, which exhibit improved brightness, by extruding a spinning solution through Y-shaped orifices into a coagulating bath, the inorganic salt concentration in the spinning solution and coagulating bath being within defined ranges, maintaining the delivery ratio within the range 0.5-3.0 and subjecting the filament to a series of stretching steps which include cold-stretching, primary hot-stretching and secondary stretching such that 16X1 + 2.5X2 - 3X3
