Zusammenfassung: | 1,229,329. Refuse furnaces. CALVAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. 16 May, 1969 [8 June, 1968], No. 27361/68. Heading F4B. [Also in Division G4] A refuse furnace comprises above an annular rotatable hearth 14 at least one fuel burner 42, at least one combustion air inlet port (40, Fig. 3), an inlet feed structure for the waste material, and a smoke flue 12, the hearth 14 being rotatable and associated with a deflector in the form of a water-cooled plough arrangement, for displacing material on the hearth inwardly thereof, the hearth being annular and an ash orifice 15 opening centrally from the hearth. The inlet feed structure comprises parallel top and bottom plates 27, 28 housing a rotatable sleeve 30 provided with radial vanes 32 forming compartments for the material therebetween, the bottom plate 28 terminating at the furnace wall so that the compartments, when situated in the furnace, are bottomless. Adjacent to the feed structure is the watercooled plough arrangement 36 suspended from a bearer 37, the plough providing concentric paths for the waste material around the hearth before pushing the said material to the ash shoot 15. The combustion air inlets 40 and burners 42 are disposed tangentially around the hearth. The combustion in the furnace is automatically controlled by using sensors connected to a logic circuit. |
