Zusammenfassung: | Compositions containing at least one chromatographic adsorbent and from 25 - 70% by weight of plaster of Paris are used as adsorbents in preparative layer chromatography, the adsorbents being preferably silica gel, kieselguhr, magnesium silicate, cellulose powder, or alumina. Compositions containing silica gel, kieselguhr, magnesium silicate or alumina may contain 27 - 50% preferably 40% of the plaster of Paris, whereas those containing cellulose may contain 40 - 70% preferably 50% of plaster of Paris. 2 - 7% of finely divided silica (obtainable e.g. by hydrolysis of silicon tetrachloride) or 2 - 5% of finely divided aluminium hydroxide gel included as a binder. The compositions may contain fluorescence indicators. Homogeneous mixtures may be deposited on glass in a pouring frame, dried in air, and activated by oven drying at 135 DEG C for 3 hours. |
