[Also in Divisions C3, C4 and D1] Glass fibres have the following composition: 50-75% silica, up to 15% boric oxide, 2-25% of alkaline earth metal oxide e.g. CaO, MgO, BaO, or SrO, the amount of CaO being half the total alkaline earth oxide, up to 15% of alkali metal oxides e.g. Na 2 O, K 2 O or both, up to 10% of titania, up to 1% iron oxide, up to 3% fluorine, and optionally traces of other glassforming ingredients and/or impurities such as MnO, ZrO 2 and ZnO.
