Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a method for extracting hemicellulose from lignocellulosic material, the method comprisingproviding a quantity of lignocellulosic material comprising a first amount of hemicellulose,determining a desired amount of hemicellulose for extraction, and based on said desired amount of hemicellulose determining a volume of displacement liquor for displacing said desired amount from a treatment vessel,- supplying the lignocellulosic material to the treatment vessel, performing hydrolysis of the lignocellulosic material for extracting hemicellulose, andsupplying the volume of displacement liquor for displacing the desired amount of hemicellulose from the treatment vessel.
