Zusammenfassung:	"THE RAILWAY WHEELS MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD"It is described a system and method to monitor railway wheels (5), which consists of obtaining images of the railway wheel (5) by means of stereo cameras (8 and 9) and performing a three-dimensional and two-dimensional model of the railway wheel (5) by means of these images.This two-dimensional model is subjected to analysis of the profile (18) of the railway wheel (5), comparing it with a two-dimensional model of an ideal wheel and thus measuring the effective wear of its profile. The three-dimensional model is subjected to analysis of the surface (19) of the railway wheel (5), also comparing it with a threedimensional model of an ideal wheel and thus measuring the effective wear of its surface (3).
