Zusammenfassung:FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: engine operates as engine with straight-flow gas exchange system with opposite pistons. In process of combustion and expansion, gases make pistons 3 move translationally and translational motion is taken up by transmitting mechanism including balls 4 arranged in semispherical seats made on piston surface. Balls, engaging with slots made in cylinder, are forced to roll along curvilinear endless profiles of slots, thus converting translational motion into rotary motion which is transmitted from ball to pistons. Rotary motion is transmitted to gears 13 by means of splined bushings 5 secured on pistons and splined shafts 6 coupled with splined bushings on which gears 13 are installed. Gears 13 rotate output shaft 11 through gears 12. Splined shafts remain longitudinally motionless, and pistons can move along these shafts, output shaft and gears play simultaneously the part of piston synchronization mechanism. Movement of pistons from bottom dead center to top dead center is provided by flywheel installed on output shaft. EFFECT: improved design of engine, reduced overall dimensions, enhanced reliability of operation at high dynamic loads, reduced mass of piston group.
