Zusammenfassung:FIELD: ecology.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ecology and can be used to assess toxicity of contaminants in water bodies. For this purpose, unicellular algae are cultivated in contact with the tested liquid and the mixture is illuminated with a laser. Fluorescent characteristics of the monitored fluid are determined, the change of which is used to determine the toxicity of the contaminants. Attheya ussuriensis, or Porphyridium purpureum, or Chaetoceros muelleri, or Heterosigma akashiwo unicellular algae are used as the test object. Each sample is analyzed on flow cytofluorimeter 24 hours, 96 hours and 7 days as an object having auto-fluorescence on chlorophyll A. Algae are illuminated with a laser with wave length 488 nm, and emission thereof is fixed by an emission filter with wave length 690 nm. Test object is stained with the vital dye Propidium Iodide to exclude dead algae before calculating the total amount and their emission is detected at wave length 610 nm.
