Zusammenfassung: | FIELD: electrical engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the protection of underground metal structures against corrosion caused by sources of geomagnetic-induced stray currents. Based on the maximum fluctuations in the pipe-ground potential difference, the starting point on the pipeline route is determined, where self-pumping devices for measuring the pipe-ground potential are installed. Consistently at several points of the pipeline, located in the direction of the product's motion and opposite the direction relative to the initial, synchronous with the initial point of measurement of the potential difference pipe-ground are also produced and the coefficient of correlation between the indications of the pipe-ground potential measured at the initial and current points is determined. According to the graph of the correlation coefficient - the coordinate of the pipeline route, the measurements are carried out with a gradual removal of the current measurement point from the initial one, correlation coefficient becomes less than ±0.3 and on the indicated dependence there are no two extremes more than 0.9 and less minus 0.9. Section of the pipeline subject to the influence of geomagnetic stray currents is localized using the plotted plot of the dependence: the beginning of the section is determined by the correlation coefficient of order |0.4| preceding the first extremum in the direction of the product's movement, the end of the section - according to the coefficient of correlation of the order |0.4|, which is observed after the second extremum along the direction of the product movement.EFFECT: increased reliability in determining the boundaries of the localization of sections of pipelines subject to the influence of geomagnetically induced stray currents.1 cl, 1 dwg
