Zusammenfassung:FIELD: measuring equipment.SUBSTANCE: method for identifying the added moment of body inertia consists in the fact that the body is brought to reversely symmetrical precession rotation around the vertical axis by an active force moment, the differences in the work of the active force moments are measured through the differences in the consumed electricity, by which the moments of body inertia are determined analytically using the equation of energy change, using the frontier positions and moduli of angular velocity vector. The body in the form of a ship hull is immersed in the model basin up to the waterline or with a predetermined draft and one or more reversibly symmetric rotations are made by the elastic forces moment around the vertical axis of the body, measured from an arbitrarily chosen angular position containing the stage of free decelerated measured rotation and the stage of a controlled reverse symmetric rotation with torque of forces in the corresponding angular positions, the work of the forces' torque is measured on the reverse rotation in a limited angular interval through the consumed electric power, the added moment of the body inertia is determined using two boundary values of the moduli of the angular velocity vector. The device for determining the added moment of the body inertia ocontains an automated electric drive with an elastic element in the form of a twistable torsion, wherein the body in the form of a ship hull is fixed through its mass center with a rigid rod with a frame in the model basin.
