Zusammenfassung: | FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: foot temperature is measured in specified points of muscles involved into a deformity, first in a patient sitting unloaded, and then after a load; the measured average values are compared; a stage of foot rigidity is determined taking into account the foot muscle health; if the post-load temperature increases by no more than 1 °C, which is accompanied by no pain syndrome or muscle rigidity, the first stage of rigidity is stated; the temperature increased by more than 1 °C and accompanied by manifestations of pain syndrome or partial rigidity with the organic changes of the muscles, however preserving their contractility shows the second stage of rigidity, whereas a temperature decrease accompanied by pronounced pain syndrome, full muscle rigidity, and loss of contractility enables stating the third stage of rigidity. Referring to the determined stage of rigidity, a staged orthopaedic support for each foot is recommended: the first stage requires wearing regular footwear and orthotic insoles with semi-rigid insole and arch inserts; if suffering the second stage, the patient wears series orthotic footwear and orthotic insoles with a rigid insole layer; in the third stage, it is advised to use customised orthotic footwear and orthotic insoles with a rigid insole layer. Every second month, dynamic tests are administered, and the orthopaedic support is corrected.EFFECT: method enables improving the foot functions, preventing complications, injuries of para-articular tissues, worsening of degenerative and dystrophic processes involving foot joints and nearby tissues, providing stable improvement of the bearing function, reducing the level of disability, increasing patient's quality of life.1 tbl, 1 dwg
