Zusammenfassung: | FIELD: machine building.SUBSTANCE: method refers to milling of gear wheels by means of gear milling disk cutter applying the copying method and involves the formation of a cavity between teeth of the wheel by means of the cutter, the profile of cutting edges of which is identical to profile of cavity of milled wheel, uniform rotational movement of the cutter, its longitudinal movement along the workpiece axis and periodic separating turning of workpiece through one angular pitch after the cavity has been cut. The method is implemented owing to combining rough machining and final machining; the method involves a cuter containing the housing with combined shaped teeth made in the form of two plates (rough one and final one), which are pressed in pairs into rectangular slots of the housing with heating of the latter of the same profile, and the cutting shaped edges of which are located on one and the same diameters. Cutting shaped edge of rough plate is intended for removal of the main allowance, and cutting shaped edge of final plate installed immediately after the rough one is intended for grinding of the machined surface after the rough plate is passed. In addition, plates are retained with cover plates fixed with screws on both edges of the housing. When straight teeth are being cut, the machined workpiece is retained in fixed position, and when inclined teeth are being cut, additional turn is transferred to the machined workpiece in compliance with the inclination angle of teeth and the cutter is turned in compliance with the above inclination angle of teeth.
