Zusammenfassung:FIELD: physics; measuring. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to meteorology and may be used in wind direction monitoring devices design. Weathervane comprises a turbine and a counterweight mounted on an axle rotating in horizontal plane. The turbine is made of paint-coated sheet polyethylene foam with apparent density of 80.0-100.0 kg/m3. In special case, the weathercock turbine is made of 2-6 propellers, which are installed in pairs on a common axis. Spacing between them equals to 2.7-3.15 and corresponds to the ratio of propeller height to spacing. Also, turbine propellers installed on a common axis at specified spacing and made of specified material may be painted in so-called complementary colours, i.e. colours, which produce a new colour when physically mixed or optically superimposed. In addition, the turbine and propellers may be made of square polyethylene sheet with angles diagonally dissected and tailored angles overlapping in clockwise or counterclockwise direction. ^ EFFECT: decreased weight of the weathercock turbine, improved weathercock response to wind, safe mounting and use at low altitudes. ^ 5 cl, 3 dwg
