Zusammenfassung: | FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed is a method for simulating film grain in an input image unit, in which the film grain is simulated in the output image (19) using pre-positioned units of film grain (408) from a pool of pre-positioned units. Subsequent film grain units are selected through comparison of the average brightness of the unit from the pool with the average brightness of the next one from a set of MN pixels in the received image. When all subsequent pixel units of the image are compared with the selected film grain units, the selected film grain units are superimposed on a bigger image, corresponding to the received image. ^ EFFECT: simpler decoding unit and increased efficiency of simulating film grain in the input image unit. ^ 13 cl, 6 dwg |
