Zusammenfassung: | FIELD: physics; measurements. ^ SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to determination of the azimuth of a given direction and can be used in geodesy, navigation, topography, targeting and guiding systems. The method of determining an azimuth using an angular velocity sensor involves pre-alignment of the detection axis of the angular velocity sensor and its rotation at given angles, determination of the readings of the angular velocity sensor at given angles and calculation of the azimuth using the obtained readings. The detection axis of the sensor is aligned vertically, and after each rotation from the vertical, the detection axis is set into four positions, arranged in two vertical orthogonal planes and with an equal non-zero acute angle with the vertical. In each of the four positions, readings of the angular velocity sensor are taken, and the azimuth of the direction of the first position of the detection axis is determined from the expression: where Omega1, Omega2, Omega3, Omega4 are readings of the angular velocity sensor readings, numbered in the clockwise direction relative the first position of the detection axis. ^ EFFECT: simplification of the process of determining the azimuth due to the simplification of the process of measuring the angular velocity of the earth's rotation and calculation of the azimuth, as well as higher accuracy of determining it. ^ 1 dwg |
