METHOD OF OPERATIVE TREATMENT OF ABSCESSES AND PHLEGMONS OF PTERYGOMANDIBULAR SPACE

FIELD: medicine; surgery. ^ SUBSTANCE: perform a skin cut in a mandibular space between the forward edge of the nodding muscle and back edge of ramus of mandible. Dissect soft tissues in layers. Cut a capsule of the parotid gland from the nodding muscle. Relocate low-back department of the parotid gland up and to the front. Bare the back edge of the ramus of mandible. Dissect a tendon of the medial pterygoid muscle at a pterygoid tuberosity of a mandible along back internal edge of the ramus of mandible at the length of 8-10 mm. Relocate a medial pterygoid muscle to inside, or partially separate from its tendon the bone with splitting of the tessellated space between an internal surface of ramus of mandible and an external surface of a medial pterygoid muscle. Perform evacuation of purulence. ^ EFFECT: method allows to reduce risk of development of a postoperative contracture of a mandible and to improve quality of drainage. ^ 2 ex, 7 dwg, 1 tbl
