Zusammenfassung: | FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention refers to non-ferrous metallurgy, particularly to device for production of magnesium and chlorine by means of electrolysing of melted salts. The electrolyser includes a lined bath, divided with a partition with upper and lower overflowing windows into a process cell and an operational section, wherein anodes and cathodes are located. In a lower portion at 1/4-3/4 of height cathodes have plane parallel working surfaces, while in a lower portion cathodes have alternate in height and length cross section providing a between-electrodes space in the upper portion of cathodes of 1.1-2.5 of between-electrodes space between the lower portion of the cathode and anode. Working surfaces of the upper portion of cathodes are inclined to axis of cathodes to achieve alternate in height between-electrode space. The border between lower and upper portions of cathodes is situated parallel to the cathode base or with a tilt to a process cell of 3° to 15° to horizon. ^ EFFECT: increased output of magnesium at specified consumption of power. ^ 3 cl, 2 dwg |
