UNIVERSAL JOINT

FIELD: mechanical engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the main drives of rolling mills, in particular, to universal joints, and can be most effectively used in drives of rotation of working rollers incorporated with the screw roll mill stands. The universal joint contains a holder with a through stepwise bores rigidly fixing cylindrical supports with ring shoulders, a spherical head with the grooves fitted on the spindle shaft, aligning rings and corrugated casing. Cylindrical supports are fixed relative to the by means of ring shoulders. Spheres are arranged between the cylindrical support located in the holder and the spherical head grooves, the said head being motionlessly fixed on the spindle shaft. The head is aligned in the holder by means of aligning rings. Between the cylindrical support ring shoulders and holder there may be accommodated replaceable ring washers. Thickness of washers can be corrected depending on the amount of wear of the said joint details to compensate for the said wear. The space between the shaft and an internal cavity of the holder is blocked by the corrugated casing. ^ EFFECT: higher load capacity of the joint. ^ 2 cl, 3 dwg
