Zusammenfassung:FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an isoprene production process involving dehydrogenation of isoamylene fraction in presence of overheated steam and iron oxide-based catalyst and is characterized by that catalyst has loose density at least 1.0 g/cc and not higher than 2.00 g/cc, apparent density at least 2.0 g/cc and not higher than 3.5 g/cc, and following composition. wt %: potassium compound 5-30, magnesium oxide 0.5-10, cerium(IV) oxide 5-20, calcium carbonate 1-10, molybdenum oxide 0.5-5, and ferric oxide - the rest. ^ EFFECT: improved selectivity of dehydrogenation process and increased activity and service cycle of catalyst. ^ 2 cl, 1 tbl, 7 ex
