METHOD FOR LIMITING STREAMS OF POSITION REQUESTS IN POSITION DETECTION SERVICE

FIELD: mobile communications. ^ SUBSTANCE: in accordance to the invention, after receiving a position request, dispatched by LCS client, LCS server checks whether number of current position request tasks exceeds a maximum of position request tasks; and if so, then LCS server refuses to process current position request; in opposite case LCS server processes position request. On one side, LCS server may set different maximums of position request task for different LCS clients and may limit the number of requests dispatched by LCS client; on the other side, LCS server may take a decision concerning continuation of processing of following position requests according to its productivity, to ensure safety of LCS server system functioning in case of appearance of a conflict with large number of position requests. ^ EFFECT: ensured control of number of position requests for further processing by location service (LCS) server. ^ 12 cl, 4 dwg
