Zusammenfassung:FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises step of feeding onto metal heel in steel casting ladle heat insulation mixture containing, vol.%: expanded vermiculite or expanded pearlite with fraction size 0.6 - 2.5 mm, 60 - 70; wood saw-dust with fraction size 0.5 -5.0 mm, 30 -40. Heat insulation mixture is fed in polypropylene container. Bottom of such container is melt by action of metal temperature 1550-1600°C and mixture is distributed onto metal surface. Ladle is covered with lid for protecting metal and heat insulation mixture against oxygen access. Wooden dust is decomposed in atmosphere with oxygen deficiency for forming sooty carbon. Heat insulation powder is formed on metal surface containing nucleuses of expanded vermiculite or expanded pearlite covered with envelopes of sooty carbon.
