Removal of moisture is performed during peat mass providing step or during pressing step. Binder is selected from chemical production bottoms, namely tall pitch, mazut, goudrons, and oil slime. Binder is added under overpressure simultaneously with pressing. ^ EFFECT: reduced power consumption during briquette fabrication, increased combustion heat of briquettes, reduced ash content and assured strength and hydrophobicity of briquettes. ^ 1 dwg, 1 tbl
