Zusammenfassung:FIELD: shipbuilding; designing aft extremities of high-speed single-hulled ships. ^ SUBSTANCE: lower edge of transom of aft extremity is made in form of wavy line at maximum in CL and two minima near sides located symmetrically at distance of 0.65-0.75 of ship's breadth. Bulges formed in area of transom are immersed in water when at rest. Area of transom immersed in water is minimum possible from the standpoint of design. Longitudinal extent of bulge studs is equal to 2-3 station spacings so that area of transverse section of ship gradually reduces beginning with station 17 attaining its maximum in area of transom where it equal to 5-7% of midship section. Sections of ship through buttocks have form of curves at sloping maximum at the ship's transom. Distortion of section shape through buttocks is made over length equal to 2-3 station spacings. ^ EFFECT: reduced resistance of water to ship's motion within entire range of her running speed at retained stability parameters. ^ 4 dwg
