Zusammenfassung:	FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to casting manufacture, in particular, to development of the cast iron composition for small heterowall castings. Proposed cast iron comprises the following components, wt.-%: carbon, 3.15-3.5; silicon, 2.1-2.5; manganese, 0.5-0.9; chrome, up to 0.25; phosphorus, up to 0.25; sulfur, 0.05-0.12; barium, 0.005-0.012; calcium, 0.003-0.008; aluminum, 0.002-0.006, and iron, the balance. Heterowall castings made of the proposed cast iron show high hardness in thick sections and absence of "chill" in thin sections. ^ EFFECT: improved and valuable technical properties of cast iron and castings. ^ 2 tbl
