Zusammenfassung:FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, namely production of aluminum by electrolysis, possibly mounting cathode unit of aluminum cell, particularly method and apparatus for forming seamless lining layers of aluminum cell. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of charging powder material into housing of cell; leveling it by means of rack; covering charged material by layer of dust insulating film; compacting material for two stages, including preliminary static compaction and final dynamic compaction. Layer of lining is formed at motion of working organs performing static and dynamic compaction along lengthwise axis of cathode of aluminum cell through the whole width of barrier material at rate 0.21 - 0.24m/min. Dynamic compaction of material is performed at oscillation frequency no more than 55 Hz and at continuous static load acting upon vibration units in the form spring-loaded weights with specific weight (for length unit of compacting attachment) no less than 150 kg/m. Compaction process is realized through layer of hard rubber whose thickness consists of 5 -25% of height of barrier layer. Apparatus includes drive unit and compaction attachment having organ for static working in the form of driven roller and organ for dynamic working joined to said roller through balance beam and tie rod. Organ for dynamic compaction includes vibration exciter with directed forcing effort and it is mounted with possibility of motion around horizontal axis of roller. ^ EFFECT: increased useful life period of cell due to slow rate of penetration of components of cryolite-alumina melt into heat insulated portion of base keeping its thermal-physical properties. ^ 9 cl, 5 dwg
