Modifying agent for drilling fluids comprises, wt.-%: alkylene glycol or mixture of alkylene glycols, 60.0-99.8; polyalkylene glycol alcoholate, 0.1-30; copolymer of propylene and ethylene oxides of molecular mass 1000-10000 Da or a mixture of copolymers of propylene and ethylene oxides, 0.1-10.0. Modifying agent comprises a polyalcohol-base copolymer with number of hydroxyl groups 3-8 as an indicated copolymer of propylene and ethylene oxides.
