Zusammenfassung:	FIELD: metallurgy; methods of cleaning bismuth. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes selective chlorination of mixtures in the course of electric refining of metallic bismuth in hydrochloric acid solution and removal of chlorine-containing compounds from bismuth melt in the course of fusion of cathode bismuth in hydrogen chloride atmosphere at 350-400°C.
