Catalyst phase of copper-zinc-zirconium hydroxocarbonate of general formula (CuxZryZn1-x-2y)(CO3)2(OH)6 with hydrozinkite and/or aurichalcite structure, or of general formula (CuxZryZn1-x-2y)(CO3) (OH)2 with roasite structure, or containing heat treatment product thereof with general formula CuxZryZn1-x-2yO with vurcite structure, where x is number not higher than 0.7 and y number from 0.01 to 0.33.
