APPARATUS FOR PREPARING AND SUPPLYING WATER-AIR MIXTURE ONTO CONTINUOUSLY CAST INGOT IN BILLET CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE

FIELD: metallurgy, namely ingot continuous casting processes and equipment. ^ SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing having ducts for supplying water and air, mixing them and preparing water-air mixture further fed onto ingot. Mixing chamber is provided in housing and it is arranged coaxially with air supply duct. Nozzle for feeding mixture onto ingot is mounted on said mixing chamber. Water supply duct has outlet portion normal relative to axis of mixing chamber and possibly shifted relative to chamber axis by angle alpha. Between mixing chamber coaxial to air supply duct of housing and said air supply duct distribution jet is mounted with possibility of motion along axis of mixing chamber and having in its body inlet and outlet passages. Said outlet passages are normal to axis of mixing chamber. ^ EFFECT: enhanced quality of ingot due to its gradual cooling. ^ 3 cl, 2 dwg
