METHOD FOR DRYING AND STORING OF GRAIN AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE SAME

FIELD: agriculture. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves charging grain in number of tiers and providing forced grain ventilation. At the first stage, part of grain is discharged onto lower tier and slightly dried until its elastic properties are recovered. Grain is then charged in layers onto lower tier and onto other tiers separated from one another by air gaps. Grain is discharged by gravity while it is continuously aerated from its lower layer. Apparatus has casing mounted in tiers, charging and discharge conveyors, and ventilation means. Air distributing channels for supplying and discharging collectors are provided within casing to cause flowing of drying agent for grain drying process. Casing has conical section defined by plates facing discharge conveyor and having central angle preventing formation of compacted zones and sites on said plates where grain may be deteriorated due to prolonged storage. ^ EFFECT: increased efficiency in drying of grain having increased moisture content, reduced consumption of power for drying and storage processes. ^ 5 cl, 2 dwg
