ARMOR-PIERCING BULLET

FIELD: ammunition for individual automatic small-arms in firing at lightly armored targets. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed armor-piercing bullet has bimetallic case, armor-piercing core and jacket; geometric shapes of bullet are changed; optimal geometric sizes of external outlines of armor-piercing core and assembled bullet are proposed. Bullet has ogival head section, leading section, intermediate section and tail taper section with flat rear end; it consists of bimetallic case with bottom in tail section whose inner and outer lateral surfaces are stepped in form, steel core secured in bimetallic case over its inner surfaces of intermediate and tail sections and partially protruding and having blunt area in nose section, ogival section, cylindrical section, engageable with intermediate taper section and tail taper section narrowing towards rear flat end and jacket made from soft material and placed in cavity between core and bimetallic envelope in at least zone of leading section of bullet; intermediate section of bullet is cylindrical in shape. ^ EFFECT: facilitated procedure of manufacture of bullet; enhanced armor-piercing and accuracy of fire. ^ 4 cl, 2 dwg
