FLOATING ROOF FOR OIL TANK

FIELD: oil tanks, particularly with floating roofs. ^ SUBSTANCE: floating roof comprises central diaphragm with annular pontoon and water removal system. Roof is provided with horizontal stop and cylindrical air-tight shell bendable in vertical and horizontal directions. Lower end of air-tight shell is secured to floating roof pontoon perimeter in air-tight manner. Upper end of air-tight shell is connected to perimeter of upper stiffening ring formed on vertical tank wall. Air-tight shell has hyperbolic surface due to shell provision with horizontal chamber arranged in shell center around a circle. Horizontal chamber has annular spring member for shell folding in horizontal direction. Shell is reinforced over the whole surface with non-stretched flexible fiberglass threads arranged at 45° angle to vertical line and extending in mutually crossing linear directions. Horizontal stops may be formed as telescopic hinged rests and extend in diametrically opposite directions. ^ EFFECT: improved air-tightness of gap between floating roof and tank wall, increased wear resistance, prevention of floating roof jamming and rotation relative tank wall without the use of vertical posts. ^ 2 cl, 3 dwg
