METHOD FOR OPERATING PONTOON-MOUNTED TANK

FIELD: extraction, shipment, refining, and storage of oil and oil products. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method for operating pontoon-mounted tank provided with means for gas-air mixture outlet from under-pontoon area and means for gas-air mixture inlet into this area, as well as members for limiting bottom position of pontoon includes product injection in and its discharge from under-pontoon area through admitting-dispensing pipe connection at the same time affording equal pressure of gas-air mixture in above-pontoon and under-pontoon areas using mentioned means for gas-air mixture outlet and inlet. Means for gas-air mixture inlet into under-pontoon area and means for gas-air mixture outlet from under-pontoon area are mounted and equally spaced apart over pontoon perimeter and also on pontoon guides thereby ensuring uniform distribution of gas-air mixture throughout entire surface area of pontoon. During product discharge from under-pontoon area its pressure and level are controlled by means of local- and remote-acting float-type pressure and level indicator. Regulating valves are used as means for gas-air mixture outlet from and its inlet into under-pontoon area. ^ EFFECT: reduced probability of pontoon heel and flooding due to uniform distribution of gas-air mixture pressure. ^ 3 cl, 11 dwg
