Zusammenfassung:	FIELD: plastic working of metals, possibly manufacture of bolts by cold die forging. ^ SUBSTANCE: process comprises steps of cutting off blank, preliminarily reducing it for forming polyhedral surface having faces whose number is equal to that of polyhedral product; performing reduction by value equal to volume of head of ready article; determining dimension of polyhedral surface according to given expression; then forming cone chamfers adjoined to polyhedral surface; reducing rod; upsetting head in the form of truncated pyramid and finally shaping head. During stage of upsetting head in the form of truncated pyramid it is possible to form flange at side of large base of pyramid.
