Zusammenfassung: | FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. ^ SUBSTANCE: N-methylalanine is obtained by alkylation of nitrobenzene with formaldehyde or mixture thereof with methanol on copper-containing oxide catalysts at 220-260. Molar ratio nitrobenzene/alkylation agent is generally 1:(2.5-6.0) and optimal molar ratio formaldehyde/methanol in alkylation agent is 1:1. Formaldehyde can be used in the form of its aqueous solution. Reaction can be carried out in presence of hydrogen at nitrobenzene-to-hydrogen molar ratio 1:(3.0-6.0). It is desirable to use alumina-supported copper-containing oxide catalysts promoted by manganese, chromium, iron, and cobalt oxides. Conversion of nitrobenzene is 100% and yield of N-methylalanine 80-88%. ^ EFFECT: simplified technology and reduced expenses on power. ^ 6 cl, 5 ex |
