Zusammenfassung:FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a new bacterial method for preparing compound of the formula (I) from compound of the general formula (II) (formulas I and II are given in the invention claim) wherein R means alkaline metal or ammonium ion. Method involves using the submerged culture of a strain that is able to carry out the 6beta-hydroxylation reaction compound of the formula (II) in aerobic fermentation and as result of isolation and purification of product of the formula (I) formed in bioconversion process. Bioconversion involves culturing the strain Micromonospora that is able to carry out the 6beta-hydroxylation reaction of the general formula (II) wherein R has value described above at 25-32oC in nutrient medium containing suitable sources of carbon and nitrogen and mineral salts followed by supplying with a substrate for its transformation in growing culture, isolation of compound of the formula (I) from cultural medium and, if necessary, purification of the final compound.
