Zusammenfassung:FIELD: cigarette industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: cigarette filter includes reactant chemically reacting with gaseous component to remove it from tobacco smoke. Said reactant includes functional groups bound by covalent bond with non-volatile inorganic substance contained in filter. Filter is capable of removing gaseous components, such as aldehydes, from tobacco smoke. Preferable functional groups are 3-aminopropylsilyl groups bound by covalent bond with silica gel (APS-silica gel). Reactant may be contained inside filter and may be contained in one or more filtering members, such as mouthpiece paper, formed paper insert, mouthpiece stopper, continuous filtering member or filter through-flow member. Reactant may be part of paper or coat thereof, for example, mouthpiece or filtering paper, or reactant may be contained in non-paper filtering members formed from fibrous materials, such as acetate cellulose or propylene fibers.
