Programmable memory is used to save characters corresponding to account data entered in memory by terminal that reads magnetic strip data out of plurality of commonly used magnetic-strip cards. Programmable memory also has data on value of cash resources and also instructions, prompting messages, and icons submitted in transactions being executed.
