Zusammenfassung:FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: the invention is dealt with nonferrous metallurgy and may be used in designs of jackets of electrolyzers used for production of aluminum by an electroplating technique. Technical result of the invention is decrease of loss of cathode metal and increase of the used current efficiency by 0.8- 1.0 %. The method includes installation of a belt made out of a ferromagnetic material, that creates a magnetic circuit around of the cathode metal. The belt is made as a closed core and is installed along the whole perimeter of the cathode jacket in space between the vertical sides of the jacket and the side block. The height of the belt makes 1-3 heights of cathode metal. EFFECT: the invention allows to decrease a loss of cathode metal, to increase the used current efficiency. 2 cl, 1 tbl, 1 dwg
