Zusammenfassung:FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to magnesium-based alloys suited for use as structural material in manufacturing moldings, products and deformed intermediates to be applied in motor-car, aircraft, spatial rocket, electronic, and other industries. Proposed alloy contains, wt %: zinc 0.1-30, light-weight rare-earth metals 0.05-1.0, manganese 0.001-0.5, aluminum 0.001-0.1, iron 0.0001-0.05, and silicon 0.0001-0.05. Treatment procedure: preparing charge, preparing melt, introducing Mg-Mn, Mg-Zr, Mg-yttrium, and Mg-rare-earth metals addition alloys, refining alloy, aging, and casting. According to invention, addition alloy, prior to be introduced into melt, is heated to temperature by 20-50 C lower than temperature of irreversible solidus of corresponding addition alloy, Mg-rare-earth metals and Mg-yttrium addition alloys being added 30-60 min before beginning of casting operation. EFFECT: enhanced plasticity, impact elasticity, and improved workability on deformation. 16 cl, 21 tbl
